The world really opened up to me around ninety and I think this whole series I'm working on comes from that era. I'm trying to transfer things from there to the present. Not because of nostalgia, but because that period had some promise for us that didn't come true and that needs to be processed.

These images are meditative states. The infrastructure necessary for development is present, but the associated vision of the future is missing. The places are in a state of transition and we're waiting for the promise to be fulfilled. Roughly nowhere, between two moments.
